Sunrise this morning before my run. I’ve been contemplating sharing this, it’s something I’ve kept rather close. Basically, for the very first time in my entire life – I run. And I enjoy it! Stats-wise for the record: this morning I ran 2.75mi in 28min followed by a 5min cool down. First mile was run in 9:27 and I am super happy about that! An under 10min mile? I’ll take it! And I hope to improve it.
What a splendid dawn – for the very first time since Spring, I have thrown open the windows! The coolest, rain-washed breeze is gusting into my bedroom as I sit at my little white writing desk. I feel so revitalized! I live for this day, the day when the barriers between inside and out can be lifted.
The tiniest of wrens, a slate grey one with a golden tail, is swooping between the gumbo-limbo and the banana trees while the doves march round and round in their silly circles on the ground waiting for the seeds to miraculously fall onto their heads when some other, braver, bird risks the wrath of the mockingbird and tries to grab a snack of black sunflower seeds.
I can smell the enticing scent of the sea.
Do you make resolutions every year?
I never manage to keep them but I love thinking about and planning my new life all due to just a few key resolutions.
Drink more water.
Eat more fruits and veggies.
Etc… Etc… Etc…
Rather than post my Resolutions that I most likely won’t keep I thought maybe this year I’d post things I Intend to do or try in this new decade. I think I’ll gather them into a list of sorts in the sidebar and then work at completing a few before another year slips past me. Striking through things when accomplished will feel most satisfactory I do believe!
So. In no particular order…
I Intend to:
- Learn French
- Bake Artisan Bread
- Play the Guitar
- Knit a Cardigan
- Grow a Tomato
- Travel Europe with Marianna
- See the Pope
- Sew my own Grocery Sacks
- Keep a Journal
- SUP – Stand Up Paddleboarding!
- Scuba Dive Again
- Attend Garden Club Meetings
- Cook for Saint Days again
- Volunteer at the Divine Mercy Perpetual Adoration Chapel
- Go to the Beach more often
- Sew an *Awesome* beach blanket rather than tatty towels
- Read all of Harry Potter
- Teach my dog to fetch
- Write a letter a week to a soldier in the Sandbox
- Post every day!!!
There we go – 20 items are a great start!
Keep an eye on that sidebar – it’ll be blooming with fun soon!
