Don’t you love Hoyas? Sometimes I’ve heard them called Waxplants but I’ve always called them Hoyas.
They just look so improbable with their star upon star blossoms.
Have you ever turned one over? Each group of blossoms form a group called an umbel, totally appropriate since they do look like a doll’s umbrella, don’t you think?
Even before the blossoms open into their stars, the buds are spectacular. The glowy color of these looks like it was formed out of plasticine. I wonder if James May formed a Hoya for the Chelsea Flower Show?
